Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Billbo mobile app and the BillboTVapp (together, the “Apps,” “we,” “us”) collect, use, and share information. Billbo lets you create a “saloon,” chat, share photos, run surveys, and play social games; BillboTV displays your saloon's live chat, games, and photo gallery on a TV. By using the Apps you agree to this Policy.

1. Information we collect

Account & identity

You sign in with Google Sign-In. Through Firebase Authentication we receive and store your email address, display name, and Google profile photo, plus a unique account identifier. You also choose a username/handle, and may optionally add a short bio and your date of birth (used only to display your age; not verified).

Precise location

With your permission the Apps use your device's precise GPS location. When you create a saloon, its coordinates are stored so it can appear on the map, and location is used to determine whether a visitor is physically at the saloon (“local”) or joining remotely. Deny location and you can still use the Apps as a remote user.

Photos & camera

You may add photos from your camera or photo library - profile and cover pictures, saloon avatar/cover/gallery images, images sent in chat, and billboard posts. Only the specific images you choose are uploaded to cloud storage.

Content you create

We store chat messages, surveys and votes (a vote is associated with the voter's identity), gang (group) memberships and invitations, billboard posts, and in-app game activity (poker, trivia, duel, air hockey). In-app games use virtual chips only - no real money.

Device & notifications

To deliver push notifications we store a Firebase Cloud Messaging device token, removed when you sign out. Via Firebase Analytics we collect app-instance / device identifiers and usage events to improve the Apps; this may include your device's advertising ID, used only for analytics - the Apps show no ads and we never use it for advertising or marketing. The Apps contain no advertising networks or social-media SDKs.

2. How we use information

  • Provide and operate accounts, saloons, chat, photos, surveys, and games.
  • Classify visitors as local or remote and show saloons on the map.
  • Display your profile, content, and age to other users, as described below.
  • Send push notifications you would expect, and maintain security.
  • Understand usage and improve the Apps (analytics).

3. Information visible to others

Billbo is a social product, so some information is shared by design:

  • Your name, username, photo, age (if provided), and the content you post are visible to other users in the relevant saloon or gang.
  • On BillboTV, a saloon's live chat, games, and gallery appear on the room's TV.
  • A saloon marked visible on the map, and its general location, may be discoverable.

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Service providers

We use Google Cloudservices to run Billbo - for sign-in, database, file storage, notifications and analytics - plus Google Maps & Places for maps and location. Google's handling of this data is covered by Google's Privacy Policy. We don't sell your data or share it with advertising networks, and we may disclose information only if required by law or to protect people's safety.

5. Retention & deletion

We keep your information while your account is active. You can delete your account in the app (Profile → Delete account) or on the web at billbosaloon.com/delete-account (sign in with the same Google account) - either permanently removes your profile, the saloon you own and its content, your uploaded images, your gang memberships, and your authentication record. Some ephemeral content you posted in other saloons/gangs may persist transiently. Backups and provider logs may persist for a limited period.

6. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) and stored on Google Cloud with encryption at rest. No method is 100% secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect it.

7. Children

The Apps are not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect their information. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data and we will delete it.

8. Your choices & rights

  • Access/update your profile, saloon, and content in the Apps.
  • Delete your account in the app or on the web (billbosaloon.com/delete-account), or contact us for help.
  • Control camera, photos, location, and notification permissions in device settings.
  • Depending on where you live, you may have additional data rights - contact us to exercise them.

9. International transfers

Our providers operate globally, so your information may be processed in countries other than your own, protected by appropriate safeguards where required.

10. Changes

We may update this Policy and will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
